Reginald Victor Sherwood was born in 1893 to Edgar and Alice Sherwood of 8 Northfield Terrace, Cheltenham.

He enlisted as a Private in the Somerset Light Infantry, later transferring to the 3/4th Queen’s Own Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment. He became ill and died at St Mark’s Hospital, Tunbridge Wells on 9 January 1917, aged 24. Reginald is buried in Tunbridge Wells Cemetery where his grave is marked with a cross.
