Samuel Frost North attended All Saints School, Blackburn, before becoming a student at Cheltenham Training College between 1898 – 1900. Samuel became a member of the college Soccer Team while he was a student. After leaving he went on to marry Elizabeth, and his parents moved to Hailsham in Sussex.
Samuel became a Second Lieutenant in the 15th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. He died aged 38 on 2 November 1918, just nine days before the Armistice. He is buried at Landrecies British Cemetery, where his grave is marked by a cross.
