Stafford Gordon Garnet Godfrey Thomas Rowe attended Cheltenham Training College in the 1914 – 1916 cohort. He started college when war had already been declared. Originally from Taunton, he was the son of Thomas and Mary and lived at 38 Richmond Road.

He went on to become a Lieutenant 3/6th Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, fighting in the Ypres sector. He was killed on 10 November 1917, aged 21. Stafford is buried at Bard Cottage Cemetery where his headstone reads “Until the Resurrection Morning”.
