Stanley Gilbert Dale, born on 29 July 1899, was the son of George and Annie Louisa Dale and lived at 6 Victoria Square while he attended the Practising School. He left school on 28 July 1913 to become a Telegraph Messenger.
Stanley became a Private in the 10th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment and was killed in action during the spring offensive of 1918 on 4 April. His body was never recovered and he is recorded on the Pozières Memorial. Stanley was 19 years old.
