Thomas David Lloyd was born in Cheltenham to Samuel and Ann, and became the husband of Louisa. He had been a pupil at St Paul’s Practising School.

He enlisted as a Private in the 14th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, and later the 12th Entrenching Battalion. In March 1917 they suffered a heavy attack in Bois de Hallot and it was here that Thomas died on the 23rd , age 35. He was later exhumed and buried at Chauny Communal Cemetery. His headstone reads “Peace Perfect Peace, With Loved Ones Far Away”.
