Thomas Henry Baker was born in 1880 and had been a pupil at St Paul’s Practising School. He was a Private in the 2nd Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment and had previously served in the South African War.
He died in France on 6 July 1915, aged 35, during the battle for Neuve Chapelle. Thomas is buried at Chapelle D’Armentieres Old Military Cemetery. His headstone reads “Ever Fondly Remembered”.
