Victor Steadman Karn was born in 1884 and had been a pupil at the Practising School.

At the age of 13 he enlisted as a drummer boy in the Gloucestershire Regiment and later joined the Royal Navy as a Petty Officer. As a member of the Howe Battalion Royal Naval Division, he was sent to Gallipoli where he was killed in action on 4 June 1915, aged 31.
