Victor William Moore originated from Stroud and studied at Cheltenham from 1913 – 1915, having attended Thrupp Church School. Whilst a student he was a member of the rugby team.

Victor became a Bombardier in the 202nd Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, and was killed on 6 August 1917. He was 26 years old. He is buried at  Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery where his headstone reads “In Fond and Everloving Memory of Our Dear Son Victor, Mother & Father”.
