Wilfred Mansfield Timpson was from West Ham and studied at Cheltenham Training College from 1906 – 1908. He was a member of the college association football team.

Wilfred joined the 133rd Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps as a Private and was killed on 12 May 1917, age 32. He is buried at the Poperinghe New Military Cemetery in Belgium where his headstone reads “One of the Best, Dearly Loved in the Family, Sterling in Friendships”.
