William Thomas Redman was one of four brothers from the Hanover Street area. He was a pupil at St Paul’s Practising School.
William enlisted as a Private in the 2/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment. He was killed at the age of 36, on 14 April 1918, fighting in the valley of the River Lys in Northern France. William is buried at St Venant-Robecq Road British Cemetery where his grave is marked by a cross.
