Windham Wallace Harris was born in 1887 and attended the Practising School.

He enlisted as a Private in the 18th Welsh Regiment, known as a “Bantam Battalion” as it included soldiers under 5’ 3” tall. These battalions included many coal miners. He travelled to France in June 1916 and died on 3 February 1917 of an unspecified illness. Windham is buried at Etretat Churchyard Extension near Le Havre, France.
