Francis Leach trained to be a teacher at St Paul’s College from 1932-1934. Whilst a student he was Art Director for “The Chelt” student magazine. He was the son of John and Francis Leach of Bolton, Lancashire.
Francis became a Pilot Officer in the RAF when he was killed on 9 October 1942 aged 26. He left a wife Irene who lived in Smethwick, Staffordshire. He is remembered at Birmingham (Perry Bar) Crematorium.
