Frank Robert March was born on 18 March 1916 and attended St Paul’s College from 1935 – 1937. He lived at 39 Rodney Road, Cheltenham and his college nickname was “Grannie”. Whilst a student Frank was part of the Athens house group. He later went on to teach at All Saints School, Cheltenham.
Frank became a Private in the 9th Battalion Devonshire Regiment but contracted meningitis while completing his training. He died at an infectious diseases hospital in Eastbourne on 8 August 1940, age 24. He is buried at St Mary Redcliffe Cemetery in Bristol.
