George Eric Cryer was the son of Guy and Lavinia Cryer. He attended St Paul’s College from 1936-1938. He came from Tuffley, Gloucester and his college nickname was “Slasher”. He was an active member of the Musical Society and 1st Rugby team, and Provost on the proctorial student body. He also directed Radio Cheltia.
George married Gwendoline, lived in Gloucester and later became a Pilot Officer in the RAF. He was killed on 11 June 1942 aged 28. He is remembered at Cheltenham Crematorium.
