Ronald George Fewtrell was the son of George and Sarah, originally of 83 Otto Terrace, Sunderland, County Durham. Ronald attended St Paul’s College from 1935-1937, where his nickname was “Frosty”. Whilst a student he was a member of the Athens house group. After leaving college Ronald married Marjory.

He joined the 158th Squadron RAF as a Sergeant and went missing on an operational flight over Germany on 14 July 1942, age 28. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
