Afternoon Public Lecture: Insect Apocalypse

Where: The Park Campus

Cost: Free

Join Professor Adam Hart for a discussion on just how important insects are to our survival in our New Year Public Lecture.
Without insects, the world is in in big trouble! They are the most diverse and one of the most abundant groups of animals on Earth, involved in almost every interaction you can think of. They are predators, prey, recyclers, parasites, pest controllers and pollinators, and they might even be the answer to feeding our growing population. But insects are really struggling, and it is all because of us…  In this lecture, Professor Adam Hart will introduce insects in all their glory, explore just how important they are, and introduce some of the latest research that shows dramatic declines worldwide. Come and find out whether we are really facing an “insect apocalypse”, and what we can do about it.

Arrival time is 12.45pm, with the lecture starting at 1.15pm. Find out more and book your place here.
