Homophobia in Women’s Sport with Dr Rachael Bullingham

Where: Online

Cost: Free

Dr Rachael Bullingham, Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science, has a keen interest in social issues and physical education, and her research includes homophobia and concussion in sport.

Rachael will be talking about two research projects that examine the experiences of athletes in the UK, from grassroots to elite level in a range of team sports. The findings show a positive shift in the climate, including actively challenging homophobia on and off the field and inclusive banter. However, there is still clear evidence that the change is not straightforward and there are still some areas that need to be addressed by sporting administrations.

This event, held at 4.30pm, is part of The Living Room Lectures Series. This short live online presentation will be followed by a live Q&A – please submit your questions during the lecture directly on Facebook.
