Living Room Lecture with Dr Phillippa Ward

Where: Online

Cost: Free

As we navigate a world of change and adversity, how is the pandemic affecting our shopping, spending and leisure habits? And what does this mean for marketers?

In the latest of the new season of Living Room Lectures, Dr Phillippa Ward, Reader in Services Marketing, explores the ever changing face of consumption, and the challenges it can bring. With over 25 years of retail and academic experience, Philippa’s research centres on the effects of the in-store environment on customers, de-shopping, and retail theatre.

And her lecture, The Evolving Consumption Landscape, The Pandemic, The Consumer, and Changing Marketing Perspectives, will focus on where we go from here.

Phillippa said: “I’ll be discussing how our evolving approaches to consumption present real opportunities and challenges for marketers – increasing the potential for positive digital transformations, offering novel approaches to customer engagement and connection, but also raising concerns over consumer privacy and ‘involuntary simplicity’. I’m looking forward to the session!”

There is no need to book for this short live online presentation, which takes place on Wednesday 17 March at 1pm. It will be followed by a live Q&A, so you can submit your questions during the lecture directly on Facebook.
