PREVIEW: Simulated learning and harassment on the Social Work programmes

We are changing the way we approach taught input and assessment on the course. Simulations using actors and students approaching complex situations have been embedded into module assessment points. SW5002 and SW7004 students receive a safeguarding referral; they have to work in small groups to plan and carry out visits establishing levels of need, risk and they make recommendations based on this. Students learn in the safety of the Skillzone street, their visits are recorded and their reflective assessment is then submitted preparing them for professional practice placements.
