LGBTQ+ Society, Students’ Union and PRIDE Network

Abstract

This session sees the student LGBTQ+ Society, the Students’ Union and the staff PRIDE Network team up to present a session on inclusive teaching for LGBTQ+ students. The session will allow participants to pose questions and share good practice, while the presenters share their personal experiences of inclusivity at the University of Gloucestershire. The session will cover: thinking beyond the binary, the challenges for LGBTQ+ students, the climate of the classroom, as well as examples and ideas for positive inclusive practice. We also cover the use of pronouns and allyship within the session. While this session will focus on the LGBTQ+ students, the inclusive practice covered can help all students.

Presenters
  • Fraser Bryan, Co-Chair of the student LGBTQ+ Society
  • Dr Rachael Bullingham, Senior Lecturer
  • Chloe Southworth, Co-Chair of the student LGBTQ+ Society
