The University’s Learning Innovation for Tomorrow (LIFT) programme supports university experiences that empower students to create more equal and resilient futures for people and planet, in the widest range of industries and careers.

This year, the LIFT fund focused on one big multi-impact project, working with our School of Education and collaborating with Cheltenham Education Partnership (CEP) as the RCE Severn (our Regional Centre of Expertise in Sustainability Education).

The “Empowering ChangeMakers” project brought together academic input and best practice in Education for Sustainability (EfS) from five of our eight academic schools and showcased the EfS specialism of the University to 10 Cheltenham secondary schools.

Through a summit event in June 2022, with themed workshops linked to secondary curriculums and student interests in sustainability, 180 school students will experience speed learning activities that draw on UoG’s expertise in EfS as well as cutting edge examples of industry sustainability practice.

Join this Festival of Learning presentation to hear about the EfS training package and video materials developed with UoG academics as part of the project; as well as hear how the summit experience positively impacted school students, PGCE students and academic staff in the School of Education.
