Independent Television News (ITN) Image Archive

The Independent Television News (ITN) Image Archive was donated to the Special Collections and Archives in November 2017. It includes over 80,000 photographic images and negatives from the ITN corporate press archive, documenting national and international news. It is a unique collection offering a comprehensive snapshot of life during the latter twentieth century.
Subjects covered include politics, crime, sport, notable people and even the abominable snowman. A list of box headings is available to view here.
Images taken by ITN are now copyright University of Gloucestershire. Copyright of all other images are held by various press agencies.
Work is underway to catalogue this substantial collection.
