Alumni David Bryant – International Lawn and Indoor Bowler – written into the Oxford University Press Dictionary of National Biography

David Bryant studied to become a teacher at St Paul’s College, (a predecessor college of the University of Gloucestershire), and he appears on the St Paul’s student register for September 1953 – June1955

He is acknowledged as the ‘greatest bowler of all time’.  He represented England for over thirty-five years and accumulated twenty world and commonwealth titles as well as receiving an MBE and a CBE.   David was renowned for his good sportsmanship and ambassadorial qualities as he played for England around the world.

Jonathan contacted the University of Gloucestershire Archives last year while he was carrying out research on David Bryant, and found it useful to see the original entry on the student register document we were able to supply, confirming David Bryant’s attendance at St Paul’s.
