Mapping the music of migration


A new two-year pan-European research project led by the University of Gloucestershire will look at the music migrants inherit and how storytelling through songs can change the negative stereotypes often associated with migrants. 
Dr Abigail Gardner, Reader in Music and Media at the University of Gloucestershire, is leading the research in collaboration with partners in Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Norway and Spain. The aim of this work, funded by Erasmus, is to increase communities understanding of the histories and emotional past of migrants that are so often unheard.  Read the full story here
