Landscape course has full IFLA & EFLA recognition

The Landscape Architecture course at the University of Gloucestershire now has full IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) accreditation. This acts as a quality standard for the course (not all courses have this status) as well as meaning that, for graduates, their qualifications will be more widely recognised by employers both in Europe and internationally.

To summarise what they do, the International Federation of Landscape Architects through its Charter for Landscape Architectural Education supports the advancement of professional education worldwide. The Charter sets out principles, objectives and criteria for professional educational programmes in Landscape Architecture. IFLA Europe operates a School Recognition Panel whose aim is to monitor and review compatibility of landscape architectural programmes in reference to the goals of the Federation and proclaimed education standards and requirements. The IFLA UNESCO Charter for Landscape Architectural Education was adopted with incorporated addenda for education policy in the European region to ensure compatibility with the Bologna system.
