“Studying Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire was a great choice to make and the conversion route has allowed me to quickly develop a new and exciting career. I learnt a huge amount over two intense years of study. With a long break in the summer I was able to earn some money as well as do a part time landscape work placement.
The variety of modules gave me a real understanding of how broad the profession is and allowed me to consider which area of landscape architecture I wanted to be involved in. The tutors support and professional advice throughout the course and after completing my post grad has been invaluable.
For many of us it has been a struggle to find work in a recession and even after finishing the course the tutors go out of their way to try and connect you with possible employers. I am very grateful as all my jobs since graduating have been through my tutors’ connections. I have worked in Vienna for three months on a project along the Danube Canal, spent ten months working on the landscape development of a new city in China, and last year I found a permanent position in a landscape planning firm.”
