Philosophy & Creativity visit to Richard Long exhibition
23rd October 2015
The third year Landscape Architecture students spent the day in Bristol this week as part of their Philosophy & Creativity module. We visited the Richard Long exhibition at the Arnolfini to explore how his projects demonstrate aspects of landscape, philosophy and theory, as well as seeing the incredible work he has produced.
We visited the Architecture Centre to see their City Ideas Studio as part of the Bristol Green Capital initiative.
We spent some time studying Millennium Promenade, a project by Grant Associates (part of the Bristol Harbourside development), again from a landscape theory perspective. This involved considering issues such as Values, Aesthetics, Power and Ownership, Meaning, Sense of Place, Language and Creativity.
