Professional Practice: 2nd Year Visit to Tyler Grange in Stroud
8th March 2017
Most sessions of the module Professional Practice (AD5000) involve either a talk from an invited speaker or a visit to a local landscape practice. The aim is to give the students an insight into actual work practices in the 21st century world of landscape architecture. We get to see and hear about the wide range of projects currently undertaken, the particular USPs of the different companies and some idea of office accommodation and typical day-to-day administration. At Tyler Grange last Friday we were introduced to the mainly landscape planning consultancy that engages most work at the offices (there are premises in four other cities in the UK), underpinned by significant ecology and arboriculture expertise. We would like to thank Hazel and Michelle for their useful presentations in these subjects. Overall the students received a comprehensive overview of the various services Tyler Grange provides. Thanks in particular to Jennifer Cawood for initiating and organising the visit.
