Hankinson Duckett Associates (HDA) is seeking full time landscape architecture graduates and ‘year-out students’ to start from July 2024. HDA is a team of landscape architects, ecologists and arboriculturalists who collaborate to ensure that the environment is at the forefront of development decisions. We have a well-established national client base within both the private and public sectors, and our advice is sought at all stages of the planning, design and implementation process for a wide range of development types and environmental projects. HDA was founded in 1998 and has recently become an employee owned trust (EOT), meaning that HDA is managed for the benefit of its employees.

You would be joining HDA’s friendly, professional and ambitious landscape architects and planners, working across a range of projects including landscape assessment, masterplanning, management plans, urban design, design and implementation, local and strategic planning, habitat restoration and habitat creation.

HDA would give you the opportunity to fully engage with the wide scope of our varied profession with involvement in multiple projects at different stages, ensuring that there is always something new to learn, with scope to carry out landscape design, background research, graphics work, 3D modelling, site visits, assessment and report writing. If you want to expand your knowledge and experience of the wider industry even further you may also get involved in HDA’s extensive ecology and arboriculture work, including surveys, assessment, restoration and management plans.

We are primarily looking for candidates who enjoy working on strategic level projects, and have good written and graphics skills. The successful applicants should have proven graphic skills, and knowledge of Adobe and AutoCAD software. Graduates should have a post graduate qualification in a landscape related subject applicants for the position of year out student should have completed a degree in Landscape Architecture. A full driving licence would be advantageous, and an appropriate visa for working in the United Kingdom may be required for overseas applicants not currently in education.
