Student Success – Jess Lane has one her images from her Final Major Project ‘Dolorem’ included The South West Collective x Artizan Gallery exhibition.

Earlier this year I submitted one of my images from my FMP project ‘Dolorem’ into The South West Collective x Artizan Gallery exhibition, and it was accepted!

The exhibition: Finding a Way Home, was held at the Artizan Gallery in Torquay where a variety of awards were given out to selected exhibiting artists. My exhibited image won the ‘F16 Film Camera Store’ award, selected by Samuel Fradley, Director of The South West Collective, who commented:

“When I was judging the exhibition for the F16 prize, I really went back to the theme of home and what that meant during difficult times. For me, home is somewhat chaotic, it’s somewhere I don’t particularly enjoy being. Jessica’s image reminds me of this. It gives a sense of confusion, of chaos, but somehow offers the viewer a subtle calm and peace within this process of uncertainty. The burnt edges of the film and lighting within the image are beautiful and this is an image I found myself going back to during the exhibition.”
