Roksanna Drzewucka, Shoots work for the Introduction to Editorial and Advertising module

1980s Perfume Advert Brief For this brief, I was inspired by the 80s perfume adverts I looked at and photographers like Brigitte Lacombe. When I was shooting for this image, I had my model do a lot of poses and I shot from different angles as I wanted to have a variety of images to pick from for the final image. I made sure to have the image of the bottle in the corner as I saw this in a lot of 80s adverts and I shot this part of the brief on a Mamiya 645 camera. I wanted the final image to be easily recognisable as a perfume advert so I also made sure to have the slightly flirtatious pose and styling of the model.

Nike In-Store Advert

When planning and shooting this brief, I was inspired by the work of a graduate of the course, Ellie Ramsden. I wanted my image to have a similar look to her work so I shot in different locations and I think this one fit with her style and the style of some Nike adverts I saw. I wanted to make sure the models in the image matched the target audience so I used young males as my still life image for this brief was a football and that target audience matches. I wanted the still life to be very simple and well lit to show the football quite professionally.

Live Client – MAC brief, Nanlite Litolite

For this brief, I knew I wanted to use the Nanlite product and I wanted to use it to create light trails to show the USP of the product which was the colours. I was inspired by a company called Lichtfaktor as they use light trails in their images to promote products which was what I wanted to do with my image. Originally, I wanted an image of the product in the final image too however I couldn’t get it to work so instead I stuck with promoting how the product can be used, not what the product is. I thought this would be a more unique way of shooting for this brief as the product wasn’t in the image.
