As a lover of nature, it was an simple decision to choose flowers as the subject for this personal portfolio. Unseen to the normal eye, there is infinite beauty to discover when you introduce a macro lens to the inside of a bloom.
The collection had to be punchy, bright and bold – an antidote to months of monochromatic, miserable weather – so reds, pinks and yellows are dominant.
I experimented with techniques such as zoom bursts, shutter dragging, soft focus and slow shutter speeds to produce a variety of absorbing results.
