LUC are looking for Year Out Landscape Architects in our London, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow offices (up to 1 year, full-time contract). There are opportunities to apply for roles specialising in either Landscape Design, Landscape Planning, or working cross-discipline if preferred. LUC is an internationally recognised creative and environmental design consultancy providing landscape design, planning, impact assessment, ecology and geospatial services to a wide range of public and private sector clients.

As a Year Out Landscape Architect you will learn about the projects undertaken at LUC, our clients and approach to work, while providing junior level input on a variety of aspects of technical work. We offer an interesting and diverse workload, including some of the UK’s most high profile projects.


The successful applicant will be enthusiastic with excellent self motivation and initiative, and have an organised, efficient and mature approach to completing work within deadlines in a team environment.


For Landscape Design, the applicant should be a creative designer and able to produce innovative and original work. Strong freehand and computer graphic skills would be preferred. Experience of using AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign is essential.


For Landscape Planning, the applicant should have an interest in the field of landscape planning and excellent written and communication skills. Interest in photography and graphic skills are desirable.
