Volunteers Needed For Lit Fest

Organizers of the XX Minifest of Women’s Writing are looking for volunteers to help with the event on October 27th. This is a great opportunity for students and fledgeling writers to gain some experience, pad out their CV’s, and meet industry professionals. You”ll also get the chance to see readings and performances by some great female authors. The stellar line-up includes Rachel Trezise, Roshi Fernando, and Booker long-listed novelist Nikita Lalwani.

Here’s the lowdown on what volunteering might involve:

Tasks include author liaison and green room management, (wo)manning book stalls and signing sessions, assisting with marketing (on and offline), distributing flyers, stewarding (registration and orientation) and more.

So if you think you can give a small or large chunk of your time to our project please please please get in touch. We like enthusiasm and reliability. In return we reward you with token gifts, CV ticks and a warm fuzzy feeling that may or may not be the result of green room wine (consumed AFTER your shift of course, and not compulsory).

Full details on how to apply can be found on the official festival website.

So can guys apply for this?

Yeah, guys can apply (hope there’s still time). Sorry for the slow reply – we’ve recently enabled the comments function and haven’t properly worked out how to use it yet 🙁
