UoG student commended in The Stephen Spender Prize for Translation

Congratulations to Margot Harrison, who has been shortlisted and commended for The Times Stephen Spender Prize. This prestigious prize celebrates the best in poetry translation and Margot impressed the judges with her English translation of the Irish-language poem ‘Caoineadh Airt Ui Laoghaire’ (‘Lament for Art O’Leary’). Margot, who is studying on the University of Gloucestershire Creative and Critical Writing MA course,  originally wrote the translation as an assignment for the CCW408 module.
