This Wednesday (12th December)…

Term is ending and Christmas is approaching, but before you head off for a well-deserved break, don’t forget about two events this Wednesday: in the afternoon, there’s a special theatre workshop hosted by Eleven Places; and in the evening, don’t miss the launch of the Smoke Anthology.

Eleven Places LogoThe theatre workshop runs from 1-3pm and is especially for University of Gloucestershire students. The workshop will be delivered by three former students – Luke Dean, Claire Holland, and Keely O’Shaughnessy – who all recently graduated with first-class degrees. It will therefore be a chance to pick up lots of useful tips relevant to your degree as well as to your wider writing ambitions. The event is at Meantime Project Space (behind the Brewery) and it’s free – just bring some of your playwriting to discuss.

Smoke coverLuke and Keely’s prose writing features in the Smoke Anthology (what a seamless link!), which we’re launching in TC006 on FCH campus at 7pm. There will be readings by the authors, music, and complimentary refreshments: we’ve got wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and Tyler’s even sourced a keg! For those who are as pompous as I am, there’s an optional dress code of smart/ smart-casual. After the formal launch, we’ll be going on to celebrate at The Railway Pub. It’s all free and all are welcome (students, friends, relatives, and those who just want to sample some great writing) – see you there!
