?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????You may have seen the burly men setting up the tents on the lawn at FCH; you may have spotted the sword swallower practising his craft in the refectory, between bites of sandwich and tikka masala; you may have noticed the bearded lady, wandering around the Creative Writing offices, or the Ringmaster cracking the whip, encouraging his barely-tamed lions to dance.  That’s because the Carnival is now in town, and gearing up for the big event on Thursday December 4th.  And guess what?  You’re all invited – students, lecturers, friends – to the launch of the third anthology in the New Writing series.

The DOORS OPEN at 6.45 p.m. in TC002A.  There won’t be sword swallowing but there will be drinks and snacks and fun.  At 7.45 p.m., we move into the big top known as TC001 to hear readings from the contributors, and to find out the results of the inaugural UoG Novel Writing Contest.  The after-party will be at Copa from 9 p.m.  It’s shaping up to be a wonderful, wondrous occasion – and a great way to bring the first Semester to a close before the Christmas break.
