All good things must come to an end, and so it is with Mathias’s splendid reign as open mic host. Mathias will be graduating this summer, and so Tuesday’s event – the Gold Edition Open Reading – which starts at Smokey Joe’s at 7pm, will be his final event as host. It will also be the Creative Writing Society’s final event of the 2016/2017 academic year. I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling pretty emotional. They say:
It’s time to celebrate the year that has passed, and the future soon to be lived. It’s also time to say goodbye to some of the society members and society committee members who will go on to new adventures. As always, every kind of writing and performance is welcome. Mathias will host. There will be high-quality writing, speeches, gold, and fireworks.
