Dramatic Writing showcase this Friday

You are cordially invited to a performance of scripts in development at the Parabola Arts Centre this Friday (9th March). You will be treated to extracts from five plays (read script-in-hand), which have been written by third-year Dramatic Writing students at the University of Gloucestershire (Genevieve Allen, Luke Dean, Claire Holland, Rachel Kelby, and Keely O’Shaughnessy). The students have reworked five classic plays – A Doll’s House, The Rover, Antigone, The Glass Menagerie, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle – and their performances will take you from dystopian alternative realities to a Mediterranean resort filled with boozy Brits who’ve travelled in search of sun and sex. You’ll also get to enjoy spoken word in the gallery bar and hand-picked performance pieces in the auditorium. If you’ve not been to the Parabola Arts Centre before, it’s a beautiful space that includes a 325-seat auditorium. It’s situated on Parabola Road, opposite Cheltenham Ladies College. The show starts at 7:30 and student tickets cost just £5 (full price £8). Don’t miss it!
