Uni Glos Religion, Philosophy an Ethics Guest Speakers: Rev. Roger Widdecombe of St. Pauls

This week students exploring the nature and location of religion in Cheltenham had the opportunity to discuss the place of St.Pauls Church in the city’s religious and spiritual landscape. Roger provided students with an energetic and dynamic set of responses to a diverse number of questions. We covered a great deal of ground which touched upon food poverty in the area, social outreach, projects on the international scene, gender inclusivity and the alpha course. Roger proved to be a generous host and despite lockdown mitigation we managed to have a very insightful session on line. In fact as this module unfolds we are gaining a much more nuanced and in depth understanding of the role that online interconnectivity has played in sustaining faith communities through out lockdown.
