Uighur Cultural Correction or another case of Muslim Ethnic Cleansing? China’s Hidden Camps.

Over the last few evenings I have watched John Sudworth’s reports on the detention camps for Uighur Muslims in Western China with mounting horror. I don’t think anyone could be blamed for comparing this state run program of ‘ethnic correction’ (my phrase) with the situation in Europe in the early Nineteen Forties… ‘here we are again’. I have personally encountered and worked with Buddhist men, women and children who suffered at the hands of various Chinese policies in Tibet since the late fifties and now it seems that equally dehumanizing and oppressive approaches are being adopted towards Uighur Muslims. If what the BBC are reporting is accurate then confining stories of such horrendous, state sponsored, ethnic/human concentration programs to a late slot on the Ten O Clock News is woefully inadequate…please read John’s reports on the link below and make up your own mind.
