Climate Crisis Strike at University of Gloucestershire

Friday 20th September saw hundreds of climate change activists, many of them members of Extinction Rebellion, gathering on the lawn of Francis Close Hall Campus to hear speeches and sing protest songs. The multitude then set off on a march through Cheltenham and regrouped out side the Councils Municipal Office where local political representatives received a mixed response to the council’s climate change policies and actions. It is fair to say that the levels of discontent and sense of urgency are rising in Cheltenham and around the world as the issues surrounding the climate crisis become articulated in ever more stark terms.
