RPE students visit Cheltenham Krishna Mandir

Students have once again been privileged enough to be invited to join the Cheltenham Hindu community in their mandir, just opposite the Francis Close Hall campus. We have developed a long-standing relationship with devotees who have had a substantial religious presence in Cheltenham for a number of years. This year students were focusing on the nature of sacred space and the theme of how the mandir is run and its religious identity in the wider spiritual landscape of Cheltenham and Gloucestershire. Students spent a good amount of time talking to devotees about their relationship with deities housed in the mandir as well as providing a fascinating insight into their beliefs, practices and the lived experience of being Hindus in the UK. I would especially like to thank Narendrabhai and Jitteshbhai for their generosity and guidance on the day…Jai Shri Krishna and pranam.
